So glad you asked! We hold space for women to create shared experiences with people who energize them. Whether you consider yourself a remote worker, a side hustler, a self-employed small business owner, or an entrepreneur, this is the space for you. Why? We love talking about and informally helping women ideate, start, and grow businesses. Towards that goal, we have a beautiful downtown Wichita shared office space, where we have the best lattes, super fast Fiber Wifi, private conference rooms, spaces to host events, and more. Our members also host free events for one another.
The biggest value of all (in our opinion) is the network. You'll be plugged into lots of like-minded local women in business who are potential mentors, collaborators, clients, service providers, and most of all...friends. You can learn more at our main website here.
Park in our lot behind the Orpheum on 1st and Broadway.
Find us (1st door on the left as you approach the building) and ring our doorbell.
We'll welcome you inside with a smile and offer you a latte or hot tea.
A member of our team will give you a quick tour of the space, showing you all the amenities and sharing about our community.
We'll sit down over coffee/tea/water/good energy and learn a bit more about you and the work that lights you up.
If you seem like a perfect fit, we'll offer our membership.
If it's not a good fit (now or ever), we won't push it. Either way, we're thrilled to have had the chance to get to know you!
All in all, it takes about 30 minutes total.
We'll probably follow up with you in a few weeks or months (unless you tell us not to, then we'll respect that).
We're located in the Orpheum building at 200 N. Broadway Ave. Ste. 110. You can park in the lot behind the building, in a spot marked "Hive" or "visitor" or even across the street or on 1st street in 2 hour parking. Once you join officially, you'll receive log in instructions for an app on your phone that you can use for keyless entry to our front door. (We keep it locked on the outside for safety, so that only members and guests can enter.)
If you join as a month-to-month member, that's it. You can cancel at any point. We don't like locking people into things! If you did choose to pay up front for 1 year in exchange for a discount, you are free to cancel at the end of your commitment. Our private office memberships are 6 month commitments that auto-renew every 6 months. You can also cancel with 30 days notice prior to the end of your commitment.
We do not offer refunds, but you're welcome to cancel at the end of your committment and you will not be billed again.
Absolutely! They can even book a private office for a day or a conference room. We encourage you to bring your male clients, co-workers or significant other to The Hive for a meeting, coffee chat, or even lunch. We think of The Hive as a women-focused, inclusive space. That means we’re all about welcoming everyone into our sanctuary. Just one rule here- escort your men after hours and on weekends. We know that sounds a little silly but we never want a woman to enter the space alone and encounter a man she doesn't know. It's a safety thing and we appreciate you respecting that!
We get complements on our coffee all the time! Everyone loves our bean to cup espresso machine that makes French Vanilla Lattes, Cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and more. You get unlimited coffee with your membership and can treat your guests to a cup of Joe too! We also have local tea by woman-owned Leaf Logic.
You are among your people! Did you know that people with ADHD are 3x more likely to start a business? Because we focus on entrepreneurial women, we figure a solid 85% of our members have ADHD. And guess what? They all say they get so much more work done at The Hive. Why? Body doubling, my friend. It's having a friend or partner who works simultaneously in the same room as you, giving you hidden accountability to stay on task. Game changer!
Our members come from all walks of life, so you would be surprised who you'll find among our bees. Our membership ranges from 18 all the way to 70+. We have plenty of introverts and extroverts. Some have been in business for decades and others don't know the first thing about starting a business (that's partly why they're here)! Besides, it's not about fitting in and being the same as everyone else...it's about finding a place where you can be yourself and BELONG!
We do discourage members from taking zoom calls or phone calls in the main space, so as not to disturb those gathering in person, but you can always book a private room if you have a scheduled call or step into another nook to take a quick phone call.
Yes! With nearly 2000 square feet of tall ceilings, curated furniture, kitchenette, and a bean to cup espresso machine our beautiful event venue serves our Wichita, KS clients in need of an intimate space to host their next workshop, pop up event, conference, business meeting, birthday/anniversary party, or wedding/baby shower.
